2021 Grenache Blanc
The is our third release of Grenache Blanc. The Grenache Blanc vines at Glenrose are 23 years old and among the oldest in the area. The clone is the Tablas Creek clone which produces a fresher rendition with less bitterness and phenolics that tend to come from other clones in the area.
The 2021 Grenache Blanc was picked on August 31st at 22.2 brix and whole-cluster-pressed into a stainless steel tank. We used Champagne yeast to help accentuate the minerality of this wine and allow the rocky terroir to really shine. After a long and slow fermentation, the dry wine was racked to stainless steel barrels and aged for two months. This wine was sterile filtered and bottled on January 11th.
