2019 Cabernet Sauvignon
We never intended on making Cabernet Sauvignon, but luck has it that when we opened the tasting room, 2.4 acres of Cabernet had just been planted right next to it in Bella Vineyard! There was no way that we could ignore that fruit. It is one of the best Cabernet clones and is planted on an east-facing slope in the Willow Creek District (a very desirable planting).
Bella Vineyard is small and produced two very special barrels. Wine critic Jeb Dunnuck says of the Cab, "Impressive cassis, bay leaf, graphite, and chocolate notes emerge from the glass, and it's medium to full-bodied, with a round, concentrated style, good freshness, and outstanding length. It should keep for 10-15 years."
